Proper Rug Care
A quality Oriental rug is an important investment that will last for generations if cared for properly.
We recommend these tips to protect your treasured heirloom. Keep in mind, while Oriental rugs are famous for their durability, some older carpets may require restoration.
2. Clean Stains
Use clear water only dabbing, NOT rubbing, from the outer edge of the stain inward. If the stain remains have the rug professionally cleaned. Do not use home remedies.
4. Prevent Fading
Protect the rug from direct sunlight. If this is not possible turn the rug yearly so it will fade evenly.
5. Vacuum
Vacuum the entire face of the rug weekly.
6. Change Traffic Patterns
Rearrange furniture or rotate rug once a year to adjust heavy traffic patterns.
7. Keep Dry
Keep water from plants off on the rug as it will rot the fibers. Moisture from use in a basement can damage rugs.
8. Check for bugs
Check rugs regularly for moth or beetles in low traffic areas.
