It’s on today! Despite the rain, we’re expecting a tremendous turnout to the 2016 Cooks’ Tour, organized by the Auxiliary of the Woman’s Board of Rush University Medical Center. We are proud sponsors of this invitation-only event, where guests enjoy intimate tours of five North Shore homes along with lunch, hosted by the Garden Room at the Winnetka Community House.
For more than 40 years, some of the most distinctive North Shore homes have generously opened their doors to benefit the work of Rush University Medical Center. This year’s five participating homes promise innovative interiors and spectacular architectural design.
Proceeds from the Cooks’ Tour 2016 will be donated to the Road Home Project at The Center for Veterans and their Families at RUMC. The Center provides support, counseling and health services to help veterans and their families understand, heal from and cope with the invisible wounds of war. Services are offered regardless of ability to pay or discharge status.
What makes the 2016 event even more special is that the Wounded Warrior Project will make a matching donation of $2 for every $1 raised for the Road Home Program, up to $2.5 million.
We’re proud to play a part for America’s veterans. Even today’s wet weather can’t put a damper on such a profoundly important cause!
