We were delighted to host more than 30 guests from Marquette University at our Evanston store, Sept. 10, 2015, for a private networking experience and breakfast. Being a Marquette alumnus myself, I was happy to open the store early to facilitate this special event.

Registration and networking began at 7:30 a.m. with a detailed program that followed, including remarks from Frederick Zagone, S. J., assistant to the vice president, University Advancement, Marquette University, and Brian Ruark, managing director, University Advancement, Marquette University.

I welcomed the group of alumni, who then received University updates from Megan O’Rourke, assistant dean, Office of Admissions and Brian Ruark. We invited guests to take a tour of our rug gallery and cleaning plant and to witness firsthand our own repair artisans at work restoring a rug. Of course, many beautiful hand-knotted rugs from around the world were on display throughout the store.

It was a wonderful morning meeting other alumni from my alma mater and touching base with old friends. Being surrounded by beautiful rugs always provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere in which to create and network.

Have a great early fall week, friends!
